We are seeking a Residential Lead HVAC Technician to join our growing residential service team. In this role, you will be the trusted expert in the home, diagnosing HVAC issues, recommending solutions, and completing safe, code-compliant installations and repairs while delivering an outstanding customer experience.
Residential Lead HVAC Technician Job Description
As a Lead HVAC Technician, you will work across Greater Boston and the South Shore performing residential HVAC maintenance, repairs, and installations. You will ensure every system operates efficiently, safely, and reliably while mentoring teammates and upholding high-quality service standards.
Pay and Schedule
Hourly Pay: $40 to $70 per hour, based on experience
Additional Earnings: Commissions, spiffs, and review rewards
Schedule: Typical start time is 7:00 AM, end times vary depending on calls, often around 4:00 PM
On-call: One week every six weeks, with additional on-call pay
Responsibilities
Perform diagnostics, maintenance, repairs, and installations on residential HVAC systems, including heat pumps, furnaces, mini-splits, ductless systems, and preventive maintenance.
Troubleshoot HVAC system performance issues and provide homeowners with clear, actionable solutions.
Inspect equipment and job sites to confirm proper operation, safety, and performance.
Support installations by verifying system layout, ductwork, and equipment sizing for residential HVAC projects.
Deliver professional, customer-focused service on every visit, maintaining clean work areas and clear communication.
Document all work performed, materials used, and time on the job using ServiceTitan on a tablet.
Maintain tools, supplies, and company equipment in excellent condition.
Coordinate with dispatch and team members to ensure smooth schedules and satisfied customers.
Stay up-to-date on HVAC best practices, safety standards, and emerging technologies.
Lead by example and support teammates as needed to maintain quality and exceptional customer service.
Qualifications
EPA certification required
Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail
Ability to read basic system diagrams and follow equipment manuals
Comfortable using smartphones or tablets for job documentation, notes, and scheduling
Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
Willingness to work flexible hours and participate in the on-call rotation
